Winters tale Country Barn in Buckingham, not far from our base in Milton Keynes, was the setting for Kirsty and Alex’s wedding. We already knew this was going to be a fun filled wedding day after spending time talking to our bride and groom at their pre wedding shoot earlier in the year.
The colour scheme was bright and colourful, reflecting the couples fun attitude to life, they went with orange and blue. This made for a colourful ceremony and reception room, filled with bright flowers. The couple had thought every small detail, so even their wedding favours were fun and colourful. These were heart shaped, blue and orange sunglasses, personalised with each wedding guests name.
Kirsty decided to get ready at the wedding venue, surrounded by her bridal party. Melissa of Melissa Wood hair and make up was on hand to create Kirsty’s bridal look. Whilst Alex decided to get ready at home and then head to Winters Tale Country Barn to welcome his wedding guests and prepare for the wedding ceremony.
Adding to the theme of fun Kirsty had flower men, who fully embraced their role, both wearing flower crowns and carrying baskets of petals. They lead the bridal process with Nigel playing the piano, followed by the rest of the bridal party and then Kirsty who was escorted by her mum.
After the ceremony the newly married couple’s wedding guests lined up and threw confetti, which our bride and groom ran through, always a stressful moment for us as we run backwards hoping not to bump into anyone or anything. We then moved quickly into group photos doing a mixture of traditional and more fun group photos. i an honestly say it’s the first time we’ve done group photos which included inflatable pigs. Our bride and groom then spent some time with their wedding guests. During this time we capture some candid photos and details of the wedding breakfast set up. Before heading back to our bride and groom to take some couples photos while their guests enjoyed some garden games and live music from Nigel.
It was then time for the meal and speeches. The speeches had us and the couple laughing throughout. Kirsty’s father was sadly unable to attend but his speech was still read out and caused plenty of laughs as he’d intended. After the speeches our couple cut their wedding cake. They then lead their wedding guests outside while the room was re-set for the wedding ceremony. During this time we captured more candid’s and family groups. We also did some after dark photos of our bride and groom and having seen this some of the guests requested similar photos which we happily did for them.
It was soon time for the couples first dance, with their guests surrounding them and smiling on, before joining themselves and dancing away. It’s always nice to see the dancefloor fill up as it did at this wedding. As we left the dancefloor was packed and guests were enjoying pizza from Romanelli’s pizza.
